    La scultura fu commissionata all'artista verso il 1950 da un membro della famiglia Onesti per la cappella funeraria di famiglia nel cimitero di Polesine Parmense (PR, Italia). Stando a quanto asserito dall'artista nel certificato rilasciato ai committenti, l'opera fu eseguita nel corso del 1951. Collocata nella cappella di famiglia, fu rimossa nel 1961 per motivi di sicurezza per entrare nella collezione di famiglia che l'ha custodita fino alla nostra acquisizione.
