ETTORE FICO - Paradisi ritrovati: Focus sulla Natura

This is the third appointment in the context of the collaboration with MEF Turin (Museo Ettore Fico) around the figure and pictorial work of Ettore Fico.

Following the Venice appointment at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, in which Ettore Fico's art was dialoguing with works by contemporary artists around some of the themes favoured by the painter, and after the Paris appointment, the Bologna exhibition will turn to the theme dear to the artist about gardens and nature expressed in an informal, powerful and semi-realistic way.

From the very beginning, the work of Ettore Fico (1917 - 2004) has focused on the recording of reality determined by family affections and the natural and non-natural landscape that surrounds him.

The exhibition focuses on a particularly successful and broad period of Ettore Fico's production, in which he relentlessly investigates the universe of nature in all its rich and dazzling variety and colour.

Ettore Fico's production is documented through a selected corpus of paintings, temperas, watercolours, pastels and drawings: the expression of an intimate and private world, inhabited, rather than by people, by the objects in his studio, the flowers in his garden, animals and colouristic impressions poised between reality and unreality.

Ettore Fico's aesthetic is intimist, personal and self-reflective, built on the everyday and on simplicity, confirming the styles and aesthetics of the great masters of the 20th century, from De Pisis to Morandi, from Braque to Scipione, of whom he was a contemporary. However, his vision goes further, being free and free from belonging to movements and groups.

His solitude also allowed him to 'slip' between the different currents without being stopped and trapped.

A fascinating figurative world; an opportunity for amateurs and collectors to make an interesting discovery.
