Tiarini's Bacchantes return to Bologna: Conference | Bologna

The Gallery brings back to Bologna a masterpiece by the Bolognese painter Alessandro Tiarini (1577-1668), Orpheus Killed by the Bacchantes, oil on canvas, 149x190.5 cm, c. 1630.

The work received a special permission by the MiBACT (The Ministry of Cultural Heritage) to be moved from Padua to Bologna, where it will be temporary exhibited at the gallery and presented by Daniele Benati and Eugenio Riccòmini in a conference open to the public on Tuesday 4 June 2019 at 5.30 pm.

Professor Eugenio Riccòmini, a prominent figure in the history of Bolognese art and culture, will accompany the lecture by Professor Daniele Benati - Alma Mater Studiorum Bologna - author of the artist's catalogue raisonné (2001) and of numerous contributions on the painter's activity and production.
