SAVERIO POLLONI SOLO SHOW

ANIMAL PORTRAITS

It is the title of the solo show of Saverio Polloni that the gallery will host on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile in its Milan bramch located in Casa Bagatti-Valsecchi in Via Santo Spirito 7 from 13 to 29 April 2023.

Through a selection of about 15 works, the exhibition presents the most recent research path of the Milanese artist linked to the well-known project "Animals' Portraits", started in 2002. The animal world combined with the concept of the portrait, just as evocative of a very high tradition, which takes its cue from Flemish art (Jan van Eyck, Rogier van der Weyden, Hans Memling etc.) until the Twentieth century. From there the portrait no longer has meaning as a genre in itself, but as part of the author’s personal research.
