Three more drawings fly to Washington

New acquisition of the National Gallery of Art

We are thrilled to announce another latest purchase by the National Gallery of Art in Washington.

Three fresh red-chalk drawings by Giulio Campi, Donato Creti and Lorenzo Pasinelli exhibited at the last edition of Tefaf Maastricht have definitely made their way to the Drawings Department of the National Gallery of Art in Washington. Sheets of extraordinary quality that document the evolution of this graphic medium in the North of Italy between the XVI and XVIII centuries. This evolution had a significant impact on contemporary pictorial developments, and modern critics have undertaken an interesting study of the subject whose definitive results are still awaited.

Many thanks to Alexandre Lafore for his excellent article for La Tribune de l'Art; a warm and friendly appreciation to Jonathan Bober and the NGA team.
